MM:  IE1991200002 - Gletta from Dáréag Dair

We are not sure yet whether he is 4 or 5 gaited as his basic gaits and tölt are clearbeat and high and wide like a 4-gaiter's. His sire was an outstanding gædingur with top quality tölt and flying pace.  Árroði oozes presence and power.
His foals are very friendly, love to learn things, have the good looks and gaiting ability of their sire.
Árroði had some light  starting work  last summer and is now in full training under saddle at Creekside Farm in Georgia.

OFFSPRING
GLÓNI from Lough Arrow II
This is Glóni,at the age of 14 months, almost never handled, just naturally friendly, curious and playful.  To him all of this was a game.  He had just learned how to wear a halter, and how to lead. We played with him a little bit for a few days and then he was turned out again to be with his buddies.

Glóni was sold, and is now in Germany.  Congratulations to his  owner Silke Brubaker!

Skjór is everybody's favourite riding horse here at Lough Arrow Icelandics. He is always happy, cooperative, and loves to show off his beautifully easy dancing tölt.
Skjór is 5-gaited, a natural tölter, with clearly separated gaits.

He gives on both, his sweet character and easy gaits, to his offspring.
Skjór cannot make solid chestnut foals as he gives on his tobiano allele with chestnut. His foals so far have grown very tall.

Skjór is available for pasture breeding

Fagur came to us in 2014 from Arvid Schmalz who had been very closely line breeding Kolkuós and Svaðastaðir lines, and so preserved these valuable and excellent horses here in the United States.
Fagur is a genetic gold nugget incorporating legendary stallions such as Hrafn frá Holtsmúla, Lýsingur 409 frá Voðmúlastöðum, Randver frá Kirkjubæ, Nökkvi frá Holmi,  Hörður 591 frá Kolkuósi, Hrafn 737 frá Kröggólfsstöðum, Sörli frá Sauðárkróki, etc.  He is one of the last of his kind.

Fagur is jet black, with a 3 ft. long mane, 5 gaited with trot and tölt to die for.

Fagur is a friendly and gentle stallion who, before reacting, tends to observe a situation first.   Arvid Schmalz, his breeder, comments:  "Fagur demonstrated the biggest gaits of all of our horses, and was alert and sensitive."

As Fagur has spent all his life in a pasture with pasture buddies and was never trained, we have only last year started to halter-train him and ride him lightly.
He will start full training this winter, and then hopefully we can soon have him evaluated.  Even though he was already 16 years old and never touched before,  he was amazingly easy to teach and very sweet and cooperative.   We cannot wait to see his first foals on the ground (2 foals for 2017).

Fagur is available for pasture breeding from May 2017.
